Through its associations, NASFAM gives its farmer members training on:

- what nutrients are recommended for different crop types
- how much fertiliser is needed per hectare
- fertiliser application
Training also includes details about current fertiliser prices and how to cost the treatment of your farm, this helps farmers work out what inputs they need in advance to get high yields from their crops.
